Role Description

Cranfield is an exclusively postgraduate university that is a global leader for education and transformational research in technology and management. It relies critically on its IT systems to support its postgraduate learning, applied research and professional services.

We are recruiting for a Junior Business Systems Analyst, an exciting opportunity to work within our Information Services group. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Project Management Office (PMO) to carry out analysis of business needs, facilitate the capture of requirements and manage these requirements throughout the life of IT change projects.

Key responsibilities include working with the business teams throughout the analysis and requirements phases to: (i) enable a deep understanding of the business “problem” and requirements; (ii) to capture the requirements in sufficient detail to enable future design and solution decisions to be made and; (iii) to identify potential solutions that address the requirements and recommend a way forward. Thereafter the role may support the business team and project throughout the design and subsequent testing stages.

The role will require you to manage relationship across the business units and shared services to ensure that all key areas are fully involved in the definition of business requirements, decision making on priorities and commitment of user resources required in the deployment of IT solutions.

You will also be expected to support the planning, management and delivery of projects and report back to the PMO on project status and escalating problems through the appropriate governance channels.

You will have a qualification in either BCS Business Analysis – Foundation, or Lean Competency System – Fundamental (or equivalent).

For an informal discussion please contact Laurence Cragg, Head of PMO, on +44 (0)1234 75 4138 or (E); laurence.cragg@cranfield.ac.uk

At Cranfield, we value Diversity and Inclusion, and aim to create and maintain a culture in which everyone can work and study together harmoniously with dignity and respect and realise their full potential. We actively consider flexible working options such as part-time, compressed or flexible hours and/or an element of homeworking, and commit to exploring the possibilities for each role.
