Position Description
The Nutrition and Global Health Program in the Department of Global Health and Population, at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with an interest in global nutrition to join its research team. The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will focus on assessing nutrition outcomes using data from Nutrition Innovation Lab (NIL), a project under a collaboration between Harvard T. H Chan and Tufts University. The goal of the project is to make large and lasting improvements to maternal and child health through integrated interventions of agriculture, nutrition and health. The postdoctoral fellow will be based in Boston and will work closely with the faculty and project team to analyze data testing research hypotheses leading to the publication of peer-reviewed journal articles.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Literature reviews, including identification and synthesis of appropriate theoretical frameworks
- Data management including quality control and assurance
- Data analysis to examine research questions and contribute to the development of peer-reviewed publications
- Documentation of key processes, events and trainings
- Coordination of submissions to Institutional Review Boards and regulatory bodies
- Writing of reports, manuscripts, and grants
- Other duties as required
Basic Qualifications
Applicants should have a PhD/doctoral degree in nutrition, epidemiology, public health or related field. Successful candidates should have experience doing multivariate analysis of datasets in SAS and/or STATA and interest in links between nutrition and health in developing country settings. The postdoctoral fellow must be able to work independently, and as a team member to carry out his/her duties.
Additional Qualifications
Two or more years of project management skills, and technical expertise in the conduct of research studies. Excellent organizational, and problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, strong attention to detail, excellent time management, a goal- and detail-oriented work style, and meticulous and consistent follow-through on projects are required. Experience liaising with Institutional Review Boards, other regulatory bodies, and academic and governmental institutions preferred.
