Leeds Arts University is the only specialist arts university in the North of England. We have contributed significantly to the development of arts education for over 170 years, and have developed a national and international reputation based on the achievements of our students and staff.

We are looking for a Risk and Safety Manager to lead on the provision of Health, Safety and Risk Management for the University. You will be responsible for the management and development of Health & Safety procedures across the Estate and ensuring that the University minimises risks to students, staff and building users whilst facilitating the work of a creative university. You will ensure the University meets its obligations in relation to legislative compliance and maintains excellent standards of Health & Safety. You will write Health & Safety strategy documents, policies, risk assessments, carry out audits and will report to/advise committees and stakeholders on Health & Safety issues. As part of the role you will have line management responsibilities for the Risk and Safety assistant.

The successful candidate will have a NEBOSH Diploma and be educated to degree level. You will have up to date knowledge and understanding of current Health and Safety legislation and of implementing & monitoring Health & Safety. You will also be able to build excellent working relationships internally and externally. Previous experience in an educational institution and an understanding of creative arts are desirable.
