We’re looking for someone to provide specialist lead support around Research Data Management. The focus of this role is to advocate the importance of actively managing and sharing research data and assist academic researchers with research data management. You’ll be expected to review and deliver an advocacy programme with elements of training, written guidance and face-to-face meetings with academics. Other key duties include assisting with Data Management Plans and helping researchers publish data via the University’s data repository. An understanding of RDM drivers such as funder requirements and academic publisher mandates is expected.

The role is part of the Library Research Support team which provides a range of services for researchers, including; RDM, Open Access, cultural collections, systematic reviews, etheses, researcher metrics and the management of sensitive research data. You will be expected to develop a working knowledge of each of these areas.

The post-holder will be expected to work very closely with the Research Information Analyst who has responsibility for the management of sensitive research data (often, though not exclusively, from medical and social science disciplines).

The Library is responsible for libraries, study centres and a research store, and is the institutional champion for study space, open access and research data management services.
