Role Description

As a Fire Fighter at Cranfield Airport you will carry out rescue and fire-fighting duties, responding to reported incidents at Cranfield Airport and within the wider university campus. This will involve taking appropriate action in line with procedures to preserve life and minimise damage to property whilst also administering medical care if required.

In addition you will work on an agreed rota to support a wider range of essential operational functions to ensure ongoing efficiency and continuous improvement of the business these include but are not limited to Wildlife Management, Aerodrome Inspection Duties, Operations and Aircraft Handling.

In addition you will need show that you can adopt a flexible attitude to work, possess well-developed communication skills and that you have the ability to work effectively within a closely knit team environment.

As a minimum to meet the requirements of this role you must have a full valid UK driving licence, be medically fit and able to meet the required fitness standards for Firefighters and be willing to undertake regular theoretical and practical training. Previous aviation fire-fighting experience (Civil Aviation Authority - CAA approved certification) would be an advantage as would a LGV2 Licence.

You will also be required to pass a fitness test and undertake relevant skills\aptitude tests as part of the selection process.
