Lecturer in Comparative Literature

The Department of Comparative Literature wishes to appoint a promising scholar in the field of Comparative Literature from 1 January 2020. The successful candidate will have established a strong research profile and possess relevant teaching experience in areas of literature which complement our existing areas of expertise. The appointee will design and deliver teaching for the BA and MA programmes in Comparative Literature and will also teach on established undergraduate and MA modules. They will be expected to engage in and develop research projects and supervise PhD students. The appointee will also participate in the continuing development of the Department in terms of national and international student recruitment, international links and governance. 

Applicants specializing in any area of Comparative Literature are welcomed, with preference given to candidates who can offer research expertise and teaching experience in more than one geographical or linguistic area and/or historical period. Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant field of Literature in hand by the start date and demonstrate excellent research potential for career stage. 

This post will be offered on an indefinite contract. 

This is a full time post - 100% full time equivalent. 

The selection process will include a presentation and a panel interview.
