About the team

The Conservatorium of Music is a vibrant centre of music education and research, with a vision to transform society through music. We have strong ties to the community through our extensive concerts and outreach program, the UWA Junior Music School and industry partnerships. Our staff are actively engaged in teaching, community music, performance and composition and a wide range of research and creative output. UWA is ranked in the top 50 Performing Arts schools in the world, according to the QS “Performing Arts” index 2018.

About the opportunity

This is an opportunity for an artist and academic to teach, create and research within the Electronic Music and Sound Design (EMSD) program. This is an emerging program at UWA that will be fully offered for the first time in 2020. Your position will include contributing to the development of the program, producing music as well as taking part in lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, concerts, workshops, student field excursions and recording and studio sessions.

About you

You will be passionate about electronic music and sound design with a demonstrated track record as an artist engaged in performance, and/or installations, and/or other electronic distribution of music or sound. You will also possess practical experience with or strong knowledge of popular genres of electronic music. You may however specialise in any genre of music. Knowledge and experience with software used in the production and/or manipulation of sound and/or music is required, as are PhD or Doctor of Music (or similar) qualification. A track record of research publications and/or creative output is also required.
