Lecturer in Chinese History Grade 8
£40,792 - £51,630 pa
The School of Histories, Languages and Cultures wishes to appoint a Lecturer (Grade 8) in Chinese History (any period). While all areas of research specialism will be considered, we particularly encourage applications from candidates with expertise in Chinese medical or political history who will be able to contribute to any of the following University- or Faculty-led research themes: Medical Humanities and Social Sciences; Cities; Security and Conflict; Slavery and Unfree Labour; Heritage; Children and Childhood; and Digital Humanities.
You should have a PhD in History or a relevant discipline, a strong, emerging publication record with evidence of 4*/3* work, demonstrable experience of teaching Chinese history at university level and enthusiasm for working across disciplines. Experience of course design and of teaching at postgraduate level are desirable. You will also be expected to have well-developed plans for future research projects and publications.
