Applications are invited for appointment as Research Officer (holding the functional title of Research Scientist) in the Faculty of Engineering (Ref.: 494225), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis and with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Engineering-related discipline. He/She should have an excellent command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua), good organizational skills, problem solving skills, communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently with initiative.
The appointee will be involved in the work of the interdisciplinary dynamic research clusters, research projects coordination and manuscripts writing. He/She will also prepare research proposals, produce reports, and provide support to the research teams and research postgraduate education. Depending on the area of interests and expertise of the appointee, he/she may be involved in the research work in the areas identified by the Faculty. The appointee will also perform general administrative, operational and other duties as assigned by the Dean and the relevant Associate Dean(s).
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
