Job Summary

The Summer Research and Opportunity Program (SROP) and the Michigan Humanities Emerging Scholars (MICHHERS) programs are signature programs coordinated by Rackham Graduate School. The goals of these programs are to broaden participation in graduate education by providing students with the opportunity to engage in research with faculty at the University of Michigan. SROP is an 8-week (May 28-July 24) research based experience and MICHHERS is a 2-week (June 10-22) exploration of graduate studies. The combined number of participants from both programs will be approximately 70-80 students.

We are seeking two temporary program assistants/residential life leaders to serve as active and visible staff members responsible for supporting the residential life component of both programs. This includes pre-arrival administration, supporting students’ safety and well-being, facilitating community-building, documentation of best practices, and program evaluation. These positions will be supervised by the Rackham Director of Recruitment, Engagement and Partnerships.

These temporary program assistant positions will be performing pre- and post-program work.  Dates of employment are May 1-27, 2019 (20 hours a week) and July 26-August 30, 2019 (20 hours a week).  See note below regarding employment during program dates.

Hourly rate: $ 22/hour
