The Estates and Facilities Directorate provides a number of essential services to Durham University and are responsible for managing, maintaining and developing the infrastructure and building fabric across the estate.
It is an exciting time to join the team, as we are currently in Phase One of a three-phase programme, running until 2027, to deliver a new estate; supporting the University’s overarching strategy, with the design and construction of new teaching, leisure and accommodation facilities, alongside the repair and refurbishments to the existing infrastructure and buildings.
The Sustainability Manager (Waste and Environmental Compliance) will be responsible for developing and implementing the University’s Waste policy and procedures and ensuring environmental compliance with statutory and regulatory legislation.
The post-holder will contribute to a wide-range of environmental activities including behavioural change programmes, sustainability initiatives, the University’s Environmental Management System and compliance.
