Applications are invited for a Research Assistant in the OEM group, with an emphasis on assisting with the day-to-day research operations throughout a busy suite of research laboratories in the OEM group, dedicated to the optical characterization of organic emitters and clean room facilities for device fabrication, thereby ensuring smooth and efficient operation throughout both areas.

The post holder will be required to prepare solutions, fabricate films by solution or vacuum deposition, perform the acquisition of absorption and luminescence spectra of organic emitters, steady-state and time-resolved, both in solution and solid films, analyse and interpret results in the context of the molecular structures of the compounds under study, and also provide support to research activities conducted within the OEM group in the Department of Physics. Holding an offer of a PhD place at Durham to continue the research after the end of this contract is an advantage.

This post is full time, fixed term for up to five months.
