  • Fixed-term to 30 June 2020, part-time (0.6), with the possibility of extension
  • Salary level commensurate with knowledge and experience. Either:
  • $34 to $46 per hour (Level A);
  • $50 to $57 per hour (Level B); or
  • $59 to $68 per hour (Level C)
  • Plus 17% employer superannuation. Salary packaging options are available.
  • Applicants must have full time work rights for the term of the contract (UNE will not provide sponsorship for this position)

ParaBoss is funded by Meat & Livestock Australia, Australian Wool Innovation Ltd and UNE, and is the national authority for ruminant livestock parasite management; funded, endorsed and used by industry to improve parasite management of sheep, goats and cattle. It leads the development of national best practice and industry information, training and extension tools for parasite management and engages industry participation in this process.

About the role

The ParaBoss Technical & Extension Manager will prepare and present extension, communication and evaluation materials in ruminant parasitology, build industry networks and collaborative opportunities, provide technical knowledge and contribute to administration and budgets.

Skills & Experience

This position would suit someone with experience in the Australian sheep industry, especially as a large animal veterinarian or DPI sheep extension officer.  The successful candidate will have a relevant degree in science, agriculture or agribusiness, with sound to strong knowledge and experience in sheep (and/or cattle) management systems and strong interest in applied ruminant parasitology.
