The Faculty of Arts and Humanities is a dynamic and supportive environment, which comprises of three schools: the School of Art& Design, The School of Humanities and the School of Media and Performing Arts. Each has an exciting array of cutting edge facilities and spaces. The Senior Facilities Assistant will work within a dedicated team to support the diverse activities in the schools and our shared facilities.

We are looking for an experienced facilities assistant to join our dedicated and flexible team. This individual will have excellent communication and problem solving skills, they will have experience in installing exhibitions, including logistics, setting up and dismantling, a collaborative and flexible attitude is a must as some evening and weekend work is required at peak times. An awareness of risk and control measures is also essential.

Clear verbal and written communication skills are essential and some knowledge of AV installations would be advantageous.

We are looking for a proactive and conscientious individual with a positive can-do attitude, the ability to lift and carry heavy loads and an aptitude for practical work.

You must be able to prioritise and manage a varied work load,balancing the demands of planned activities and day to day challenges as they arise. Attention to detail is essential and you must to be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure. Good team working skills are essential as well as being able to problem solve and work on your own initiative. A good general education to GCSE level or equivalent along with a clean driving licence is essential.

An understanding of or experience of basic carpentry and tooling is essential and an interest in the arts is preferable.
