The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences is passionate about the principles and application of science and technology in all its forms and strives to be excellent in research, teaching and innovation. The Department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation has particular strengths in health and wellbeing, the role of exercise and physical activity in the management of chronic health conditions, behaviour change and physical activity promotion for children and ageing populations. There is also a growing profile of research and evaluation activity related to policy and practice in sport management specifically focusing on volunteering, strategic management and planning, marketing and the sustainability of sport, leisure and recreation.

Working within the Department of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation, you will provide expertise in the area of Sport Management. Candidates with expertise in resource management (finance), and facility management are particularly encouraged to apply. The post may also involve a contribution to research methods, placement, and generic skills teaching, as well as project supervision at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The Department will consider high quality applications in any area of related teaching and research. This role will include designing and delivering high quality teaching activities, supporting the development of the Hong Kong and Singapore sport management franchise programmes, undertaking individual and joint research to produce high quality, internationally recognised, academic outputs and participating in external activity to generate income and promote the subject.
 
Candidates for SL level may also be expected to take on undergraduate or postgraduate programme leading responsibility.

You must hold a first degree and be either qualified to doctoral level (SL), or soon to be qualified to doctoral level (L), in a relevant subject, have subject expertise in sport management with specialist knowledge gained through research activity, professional practice and/or consultancy. Proven ability to deliver high quality research led teaching within an appropriate field and a publication profile (or clear potential to develop one), and experience of developing business/client networks external to the University are desirable for this role.
