Position Summary
Academic Specialist – Lighting Department Supervisor
The Department of Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance seeks applicants for a Stage Lighting Supervisor. This 12-month position supervises lighting labor, budgets, inventory, maintenance and execution of lighting for 12-15 productions annually.
Position works closely with lighting faculty to mentor graduate and undergraduate students as Master Electricians, and models safe and professional practices in three spaces and a well-equipped lighting shop. Position may also teach one lighting technology course per year. Assists in the planning of student production assignments, and development of a sustainable long-term strategy to keep instruction and inventory current with technological developments in stage lighting and production

Required Qualifications: MFA in lighting design and 3+ years of professional electrics experience.
Fluency with industry standard lighting software, Vectorworks and Lightwright is necessary. Desired skills include: 3D Vectorworks, pre-visualization software. ETCP Entertainment Electrician certification a plus.
