The role

We are currently searching for two Research Assistants to provide technical support to the Queensland node of the National Biologics Facility in the areas of upstream bioprocessing, downstream bioprocessing and protein analytics.

The person

The successful appointee will hold an undergraduate degree in Science in a relevant area (e.g. Bioengineering, Bioprocessing, Chemical Engineering), partnered with experience working in the field of bioprocessing.

In addition, you will be able to demonstrate: proficiency in mammalian cell culture and recombinant protein expression; experience working with mammalian WAVE and stirred-tank bioreactors up to 50L scale; and experience working with AKTA chromatography systems and processing culture volumes up to 50L scale. Finally, you will be familiar with following standard operating procedures, record keeping, preparing batch reports, and have a responsible approach to equipment use and maintenance.

You must have valid Australian work rights to apply for this role. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Salary and Benefits

These are full-time, fixed term appointments at HEW Level 6. These appointments are currently available until end December 2019, however there is the possibility of extension depending on funding. The remuneration package will be in the range $77,400 - $83,267 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be in the range $84,753 - $91,177 p.a.).
