SENIOR RESEARCH SUPPORT ASSOCIATEKoch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research-Langer Lab, to assist investigators in a research group focused on the development of drug-loaded nanoparticles for in vivo delivery. Responsibilities will include the design, synthesis, formulation, and in vivo evaluation of drug-loaded nanoparticle systems. General responsibilities will also include the accurate maintenance of records of experiments; maintaining and ordering the necessary chemical reagents required for experiments; recording and updating protocols and standard operating procedures for synthesis and in vivo experiments; summarizing and documenting research results/findings to be shared with the research team; ensuring safety standards and procedures are consistently followed; general upkeep of the lab; and working with postdoctoral associates, graduate students, technicians, and undergraduate students in the lab. This position will be under the guidance of Professor Robert Langer and Dr. Owen Fenton. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; exposure to a research lab; willingness to work with animals in in vivo experiments (primarily mice/rats), learn new tools and techniques, and perform literature searches; ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to concisely summarize and present results to research team; commitment to exceeding quality standards, providing exceptional services, and producing accurate and high-quality work; meticulous attention to detail; practiced documentation skills; and awareness of basic safety issues and how to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.  Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (chemical engineering, chemistry, bioengineering, biochemistry, etc.) highly desired.  Experience with chemical synthesis and characterization techniques; in vivo injections and tissue resection; polymer formulation, synthesis, and characterization, NMR, fluorescence assays, and IVIS imaging also desirable. Job #17222-5
