Applications are invited for the post of Cafés Shift Leader in the Commercial Services Department

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Commercial Services team, which is responsible for the delivery of a range of services across campus to enhance the student, staff and visitor experience.

This role will be assisting the Café Manager in our two main coffee shops.

The Boilerhouse Café is our artisan coffee shop; many of the products are freshly made on campus with a focus on vegetarian, vegan and healthier products.

Café on the Square is a branded coffee shop based in the Emily Wilding Davison Building. Since opening our doors in September 2017, the team has grown alongside our customer base.

This position will contribute to the success of the cafés on campus by providing a fantastic customer experience to all, engaging with each person whilst you make each of their quality drinks; speed and efficiency to continue with the pace of service and ensuring the standards and professional image of the cafe is maintained at all times.

This is very much a ‘hands on’ position to support the operational efficiency of the service, which also includes supervising and encouraging your team to exceed expectations. The role will involve working evenings and weekends as necessary.

To be successful in this post you will need:

  • Ability to organise and supervise a large team of staff
  • Understanding and knowledge of stock control
  • Cash handling
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Ability to perform well under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Barista experience

You will be expected to lead the team in driving the business forward and delivering the best to our customers, ensuring the highest quality service and standards.

Willingness to attend and run training sessions and meetings will also be required.

Candidates will need great communication skills and the ability to work using their initiative, making a contribution as part of a team. Previous experience of leadership is required but we will take into account your passion for the business.

This position is available immediately.

In return we offer a highly competitive rewards and benefits package including:

  • Generous annual leave entitlement
  • Training and Development opportunities
  • Pension Scheme with generous employer contribution
  • Various schemes including Cycle to Work, Season Ticket Loans and help with the cost of Eyesight testing.
  • Free parking

The post is based in Egham, Surrey where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London.
