Job description

The Institute for Global Food Security sits within the School of Biological Sciences at Queen's. The Institute is leading the world in addressing one of the greatest global challenges - how to ensure the safety of our food.

Our researchers track and prevent contamination of crops, animal feeds and foods. They help detect fraud along the supply chain and develop advanced food provenance systems, help to improve the quality of crops and the health of farm animals and their resistance to disease.

The Research Fellow will take a leading role in a Biotechnology & Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) funded research project that aims to investigate the extent of the rumen fluke problem in the UK and to develop new diagnostic tests for this emerging infection. The successful candidate will assist in the development of research goals and proposals and the planning and delivery of the research activity within a specified area so that the overall research objectives of the project are met.

Ideal start date is early April 2019 and the contract is available until 31 December 2019.
