Applications are invited for appointment as Research Officer in Clinical Psychology in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 494182), to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in clinical psychology or a related field, with the eligibility for licensing where appropriate.  They should have at least 1 year's relevant work experience in the specialists of adult general medical and psychiatric services, preferably with experience working with cancer patients and their caregivers.  They should also have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; strong communication and interpersonal skills; an analytic mind; empathy; and the commitment to patient care.  They should be committed to evidence-based psychological assessment and interventions; aspiration in psychological service development; and a keen interest in research in psycho-oncology.  The appointee will join The Jockey Club Institute of Cancer Care team, and assist in developing and conducting evidence-based supportive cancer care services, particularly comprehensive psychological assessments on cancer patients and caregivers. He/She will also design and undertake psychological interventions, provide advice to other health care professionals, and conduct research in relevant areas.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
