Are you ready for a rewarding challenge in your procurement and commercial career? Swinburne University of Technology, striving to create social and economic impact, is looking for a commercially-focused and agile procurement professional to support the Construction and Facilities area.

Construction and Facilities covers the areas responsible for the University’s infrastructure, execution of capital planning and works across the property portfolio, as well as facilities operations and maintenance. This area requires a procurement professional who is commercially focused and confident to challenge the status quo, whilst maintaining a focus on governance and risk.

This exciting role will have responsibility across the full procurement lifecycle, from category planning to sourcing strategy, execution, contract management, procure to pay, and relationship management. In this role you will need to develop strong internal stakeholder relationships by providing progressive commercial advice and identifying innovative solutions to University challenges. You will also have the opportunity to drive the university towards social procurement practices in line with Swinburne’s 2025 vision. A challenging, yet throroughly rewarding opportunity awaits.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Relevant diploma, degree, or postgraduate qualifications together with relevant experience in procurement or commercial roles across the construction and/or facilities areas.
  • Experience in delivering results and innovative solutions in large complex organisations
  • Highly developed relationship management experience, including the ability to positively influence, motivate and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders
