A Postdoctoral Research Associate or more senior position is available in the Quantum Coherence Laboratory under the direction of Professor Jason Petta in the Department of Physics at Princeton University. The successful candidate will participate in the research activities of the lab with graduate and undergraduate students as well as other postdoctoral researchers.

Electron spins are attractive candidates for quantum bits due to the fact that they can be easily controlled via electrical methods. However, electron spins are difficult to transport over long distances, as would be required for quantum communication or long-range coupling. This position is focused on developing hybrid quantum systems that can be used to couple the spin degree of freedom to a propagating electromagnetic field. Candidates applying for the position must be skilled at electron beam lithography or have experience operating a dilution refrigerator. We seek candidates with strong leadership skills who will help foster a safe and efficient laboratory work environment. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the writing of research progress reports. Candidates for the position must have a Doctorate degree in Physics or a related discipline.

Appointments are for one year with the possibility of renewal annually for up to two additional years subject to performance and continued funding.

Interested applicants must apply online at https://www.princeton.edu/acad-positions/position/11042 and include a CV, cover letter or statement of research interests, and the names and contact information for three references. For further information, please contact Professor Jason Petta, petta@princeton.edu. The position is open until filled. This position is subject to the University's background check policy.

Princeton University is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
