TECHNICAL ASSOCIATEKoch Institute (KI) for Integrative Cancer Research-Langer Lab, to work on a highly multidisciplinary team developing injectable drug delivery systems for vaccines and small molecule therapeutics. Primary responsibilities will include running controlled-release assays, formulation development, small molecule and protein analysis, animal studies, data analysis, and reporting to direct supervisor in a timely manner. Micro molding of biodegradable materials and running biological assays (e.g., ELISA) will be major components of the duties. May train and coordinate the work with research support associates, students, employees, and/or temporary staff, ensuring that others comply with established standards, regulations, and laboratory procedures.  May also be responsible for training new users in equipment operation. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: B.S./B.A. in biological sciences, material science, engineering, or a relevant field; experience in drug delivery, controlled release, biomaterials, chemistry, protein stability, molecular biology, immunology, and/or virology; at least two years’ specialized lab experience (which may include experience gained as an undergraduate); experience working with and maintaining technical instruments/equipment; comfort summarizing and reporting results to researchers; demonstrated commitment to exceeding quality standards and producing accurate and high-quality work; strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills; practiced documentation skills; demonstrated problem solving skills; ability to learn quickly; willingness to learn new tools and techniques; and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.  Relevant experience with micro molding techniques preferred. Job #17210
