The Directorate of Information & Library Services (ILS) is seeking to appoint a Desktop Support Officer to work within the Desktop and Licensing Team to test and deploy the Windows 10 environment and assit with software packaging. This role will be key for the rollout of the Windows 10 student and staff desktop project.
You will assist technical staff across ILS and faculties in testing, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to the desktop and printing environments, and ensuring software is suitably configured and packaged for the Windows 10 environment.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a flexible and dynamic team of multi-skilled support professionals. You will maintain and provide support for the desktop and software images on PCs in teaching and office spaces managed by ILS and assist non-ILS support staff with specialised configurations.
Comprehensive experience in supporting and administrating SCCM, an understanding of Asset Management tools and Network topology is required, along with sound experience supporting users in both Windows and MAC operating environments under Active Directory.
You must exhibit a clear, proficient customer focus, work in a calm and understanding manner, inspire confidence in users and take control of situations which could be technically unpredictable, all within an environment predicated on Service Level Agreements.
