The Opportunity

Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences is looking for an exceptional Alumni Engagement and Events Manager.

You are someone who is a true leader, loves managing a team and lead by an example. This opportunity will suit someone who is not afraid of getting their hands dirty in conception, planning and implementation of innovative faculty activities and strategic initiatives.

You are passionate about delivering innovative strategies to increase engagement within Monash’s alumni community. You will be working closely with central External Relations, Development and Alumni (ERDA) teams and in close communication with the broader faculty External Relations team.

You will support the strategic development and delivery of a diverse range of programs to increase alumni engagement, and will be directly responsible for supporting our global alumni networks. Collaboration with a wide variety of stakeholders is also crucial to this role.

A key aspect of this role is to develop sustainable programs for the alumni community that support university objectives. You will be required to liaise with external stakeholders and the alumni community, and to work with staff across the university to assist in the delivery of their goals through alumni engagement activities. You will use advertising, social media and website development, database development and other initiatives to help to establish and build relationships with a wide range of alumni; locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

To be successful in the role the successful applicant will have:

  • A track record in developing programs that build lasting relationships
  • Proven ability and extensive experience in alumni activities, including a sound knowledge of appropriate concepts, methods and practices
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, including planning, scheduling, people management, system management and reporting skills
  • Highly regarded highly regarded interpersonal and influencing skills together with a forward-thinking, strategic approach
  • An ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders
  • Highly versed with event management and/or marketing & communications
  • A strong track record in requesting and gaining significant financial commitment

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
