Support/Academic/Management Support

UCB’s team of Developers work with departments across the University to envisage, create and maintain bespoke applications. The majority of our development is on the UCB Portal, which is a web application providing support to both staff and students.  Other core development work includes integration with third party systems to ensure they seamlessly engage with our existing ecosystem.

We are looking for a talented Developer to join our team, working with ASP.NET in an environment consisting of Microsoft SQL Server, C#.NET and Bootstrap / Knockout on the front end.  You will be working closely with the current team to develop data-driven web-based business application services.

The successful candidate will have experience across the full stack of development from database to user interface, with a proven record of delivering data-driven web-based systems and the ability to work with non-technical staff as required.  You will be adept at time management and will display problem solving skills to deliver tested solutions within appropriate timescales.

Flexibility is an important part of the role, in order to meet the demands of the service.

Benefits:

Staff benefits include 38 days’ paid leave per year, excellent staff development opportunities, pension scheme and a private healthcare policy.

Note for applicants:

All applicants for employment at the University will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of the principles of Safeguarding and the PREVENT agenda in the context of further and higher education.

Closing date: Monday 25 March 2019 at noon

Selection process: Applications will be considered on a rolling basis up to the stated deadline. Applicants who clearly evidence the essential requirements of the person specification will be invited to participate in a pre-interview technical activity to determine suitability. Based on the outcome of the technical test, applicants may be invited to progress to a formal interview stage on a date to be confirmed (beginning of April 2019).
