About the opportunity

Lecturers in education focused roles will dedicate the majority of their contribution to the Discipline to teaching, learning, curriculum development, and scholarship in education (70%). Education-focussed academics in Finance will contribute to outstanding education design, delivery, evaluation and outcomes; will apply pedagogical scholarship to practice; will contribute to education and administrative duties; will contribute to a positive workplace culture; will support the strategic direction of the Business School and University; will engage in pedagogical activities and will develop a profile with external stakeholders.

  • completed PhD (or nearly completed) in Finance or closely related field.
  • a proven ability, commitment and passion for engaging in scholarly activities to inform innovative pedagogical practice
  • deep and broad experience in teaching and learning in a tertiary environment, as evidenced by participation in team teaching within an established program and experience in teaching in a variety of settings
  • demonstrated success in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives
  • a developing network of relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders
  • experience in supervising or mentoring others and/or coordinating team activities
  • demonstrated capacity to stimulate, actively engage and educate an audience using a range of media

The University of Sydney Business School (the Faculty of Business) is one of the Asia Pacific region’s premier centres for engaged and innovative business education and research. Campuses

The University of Sydney has nine official campuses.

1.         Camperdown/Darlington Campus.

2.         Cumberland Campus. Home to the Faculty of Health Sciences (based in Lidcombe).

3.         Mallett Street Campus. Home of the Sydney Nursing School.

4.         Sydney Conservatorium of Music Campus. In Macquarie Street, central Sydney.

5.         Rozelle Campus. Home to Sydney College of the Arts.

6.         Surry Hills Campus. Home to the Faculty of Dentistry.

7.         Camden Campus. Contains facilities connected to the Faculty of Veterinary Science and the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment.

8.         Burren Street Campus. Facilties are currently under development.

9.         Sydney Medical School campuses. These include the School of Rural Health (in Dubbo and Orange), the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Concord Hospital, Westmead Hospital, the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Nepean Hospital, Northern Clinical School, Sydney Adventist Hospital, Broken Hill University Department of Rural Health, and Northern Rivers University Department of Rural Health.
