About the opportunity
The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies is establishing a new School of Biomedical Engineering to enhance its research, education and engagement outcomes in biomedical engineering.
The primary objectives of these academic positions (both in Biomedical Engineering), include building upon existing and initiating new education programs and research collaborations relating to biomedical engineering.
The University of Sydney is committed to establishing partnerships between Engineering and Medicine through research and innovation directed towards re-imagining health care.
To support this commitment, the University seeks to build upon its academic strengths in design, engineering and IT to serve as an integral contributor to translational research.
The two positions are intended to:
Prepare and deliver lectures in identified biomedical engineering Units of Study Prepare and manage assessments for identified biomedical engineering Units of Study Serve as a point-of-contact for assistance to FEIT students carrying out projects to ensure their smooth running and to facilitate and foster new collaborations within industry and the Westmead precinct. Contribute to the development of the biomedical engineering (teaching and research) in the School of Biomedical Engineering.
It is expected that you will have a broad range of expertise in areas relevant to neuromodulation such as implantable medical devices and neurophysiology. Your research will complement current engineering and IT activities at Darlington Campus and at the Westmead precinct.
