We are looking for an internationally recognised research leader in Computing Sciences to provide leadership and help shape the research development and ambitions of the School.  Candidates will be expected to have an outstanding publication portfolio and a sustained record of substantial external funding.  

The School’s current research areas in computer science include graphics, vision, speech, machine learning and computational biology. We are interested in candidates who research within any relevant field of computing sciences, but preference will given to those who can strengthen existing research groupings and the School’s industrial and enterprise activities. 

The appointee will be expected to engage in high-quality research; actively contribute to teaching; provide academic leadership involving the development and management of research programmes, teaching and/or enterprise activities; and undertake relevant administration within the School.  

We particularly welcome applications from suitably qualified female academics as they are currently under-represented in senior positions within the School.
