Postdoc Position, Quantitative Analysis of Multimodal Images for Automated Plant Phenotyping
The CEITEC-Central European Institute of Technology (Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic) seeks applicants for postdoctoral positions on the field of quantitative plant image analysis. The research activities will be performed within the scope of recently funded project aiming to develop advanced algorithmic approaches to automated plant phenotyping using multimodal image data acquired with visual light, fluorescence and 3D cameras.
The scope of research activities includes development of methods for image enhancement, segmentation, classification using supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques. The work will be done in a collaboration with Photon Systems Instruments (PSI), a company working in the field of plant phenotyping.

We offer: The successful candidate will be given an opportunity to work in a state-or-the-art scientific environment on the rapidly growing interdisciplinary field of biological image analysis and quantitative species phenotyping. The position is available from September 2018.
We expect: We are looking for motivated researchers with a degree in informatics, mathematics, physics or similar educational background and previous experience in image processing, computer vision, and/or machine learning. Good programming skills in one or more scientific programming languages (e.g., Matlab, Python, Java, C/C++, shell scripting) are mandatory. The successful candidate is expected to have good communication skills in English language.
