The Program Coordinator will provide administrative support to two graduate programs—the Graduate Programs in Nutrition and Metabolism (N&M) and the Graduate Program in Molecular and Translational Medicine (MTM) at Boston University School of Medicine. The Coordinator will play an essential role in ensuring that both programs operate smoothly. The Program Coordinator will work closely with BUSM students, program faculty and staff as well as GMS faculty and staff. As a primary contact person for the Master's and PhD Programs in N&M as well as the MTM PhD program, the Coordinator will be crucial to the successful recruitment of students and the overall operation of the program.

Responsibilities:

N&M - Management of records for master's and PhD students in program, serves as program liaison with GMS, and manages daily administrative responsibilities for the program including providing administrative support for N&M directors and faculty.  Communicates directly with students about N&M program requirements, GMS requirements, registration, and financial aid. Assists with student recruitment. Maintains N&M web site (including update of web pages & materials), program brochures, handbooks, and other program materials. Maintains records on current and former students in the program. Processes and tracks admissions applicants. Handles room scheduling. Other responsibilities as assigned by the N&M Directors, including some financial management responsibilities.

MTM- Manages daily administrative operations and oversees all students in MTM. Serves as primary point of contact for all MTM students in course requirements, registration, tuition, departmental information and programs and acts as administrative resource for all MTM faculty and staff. Maintains MTM website. Ensures content is updated regularly. Oversees MTM budget and ensures budgetary compliance. Assists in annual budget preparation. Schedule conference rooms for courses, thesis committee meetings, thesis defense meetings, exams, etc. Place catering requests and completes reimbursements as required. Other responsibilities as assigned by MTM Program Director.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Website maintenance and social media skills of benefit
  • 1-3 years of experience
