Job Description
The Lab Animal Technician II will ensure quality animal care for all research animals. They will follow all procedures necessary to maintain animal housing areas including room or facility personnel entry, use of personnel protective equipment (PPE), and decontamination of all equipment and material moving into controlled areas.
Duties Include:
- Maintain proper sanitization of animal equipment, research facility and materials.
- Strictly follow all institutional, local, state, federal regulations, policies and procedures to assure proper animal health and welfare.
- Performs cage changing or cleaning as required.
- Maintains quality and health of research animals by performing health checks and recording animal health concerns per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and/or specified protocols.
Required Skills
Must have a minimum of 1-year experience as cage changer and be able to work a Sunday-Thursday work schedule. "High school diploma or GED required. AALAS ALAT certification preferred or expected within the first year.
