The Head of School of Health and Wellbeing is a key leadership role within the Faculty of Health, Engineering and Sciences.  This role is responsible for the management and leadership of the School in fulfilment of the University’s strategic and operational objectives. The Head of School will ensure the quality and performance of the School’s teaching and learning, research, professional activities, community engagement and provide leadership to the Ipswich Campus.

As a member of the Faculty Executive Team, reporting to the Executive Dean, the Head of School will drive the quality and performance of learning and teaching across programs, whilst working collaboratively to strengthen the School’s research in its key priority areas which include human movement and sports sciences; nutrition and dietetics; and public health services. The Head of School will also assume responsibility for active engagement and participation with business, industry and community in the Ipswich area.

With a strong track record in academic leadership the Head of School will bring an outstanding track record in teaching and research with the ability to drive strong relationships with industry and funding agencies. To be successful in this role the Head of School will need to provide strategic leadership in the development of programs and demonstrate an ability to build and unite interdisciplinary teams, manage resources and create a shared vision to develop and realise the potential of the School. A PhD in a relevant discipline is essential.
