Position Description
The Department of Landscape Architecture at the GSD is seeking to fill one or more faculty positions for individuals whose work focuses on ecology, ecological restoration, and/or environmental engineering. The successful candidate will have expertise in ecology as it engages with important concerns of the school, including risk and resilience, energy and environment, and urbanism. S/He will be expected to play a role in the school’s advanced studies and doctoral programs, and serve as a liaison to related groups across Harvard. We are particularly interested in individuals who have the capacity to bridge between ecology, technology, infrastructure, and contemporary design culture in landscape architecture and urbanism.
Full-time appointment(s) may be made at either the tenure track or tenured (full Professor) level, and the committee may also consider candidates for part-time practice positions at all ranks, with responsibilities for teaching, research, and academic service.
Basic Qualifications
Candidates for the full Professor rank should have an internationally respected record of research and publication in topics that concern the built environment. Candidates for tenure-track appointment should also have a research agenda with a primary focus on the built environment. Prior teaching experience in the context of a graduate school is preferable.
