Position Description

The Department of Developmental Biology at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM) invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor/Associate Professor position. Successful candidates should have a strong record and future promise in teaching and scholarship. HSDM offers a unique interdisciplinary environment for teaching, research, and clinical activity. The Department of Developmental Biology includes the specialties of Orthodontics and Pediatric dentistry. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in the School’s Advanced Graduate and Pre-Doctoral orthodontic programs, engage in clinical practice of orthodontics at HSDM affiliated institutions, and participate in research and scholarly activities.

Basic Qualifications

The successful candidate must hold a dental degree (DMD or DDS) from a CODA accredited dental school or equivalent and hold or be eligible for a Massachusetts dental license. Candidate must have advanced graduate training in Orthodontics from an accredited dental school. Prior academic experience is required including participation in clinical instruction in orthodontics.

Additional Qualifications

Full Certification by the American Board of Orthodontics is preferred. Demonstrated ability to obtain research funding is required and individuals with current research funding are desired. The ideal candidate will have experience treating pediatric and adult orthodontic patients. Prior academic experience of at least three years is preferred.
