Grade 4 £19,202 - £20,275

Applications are invited for an Administrator on the exciting, new Institute of Coding Project “TechUP”. Ideally, we are seeking applicants with relevant project administration experience working with multiple partners and stakeholders. The post is for a fixed term period until 31st March 2020 and would be an excellent opportunity for a current member of staff seeking professional development as a secondment. Applicants will be working under the guidance of Professor Sue Black and Professor Alexandra Cristea.

“TechUP” takes 100 women from the Midlands and North of England, particularly from underrepresented communities, with degrees in any subject area, retrains them in technology and then gives them the opportunity to interview with a company for an internship/apprenticeship/job. The retraining programme co-created by academic, industrial and outreach partners includes modules at level 6/7 and includes both technology modules: data science, cyber security, machine learning, agile project management, along with workplace readiness skills: public speaking, clear communication, working as a team etc.

The programme involves four residential weekends hosted by the four partner universities: Nottingham, Edge Hill and York. The residential weekends bring together participants, with all partner organisations to create and sustain strong relationships. Between residential weekends, the programme continues online. At the end of the programme, successful participants receive a certificate and an interview with a partner company at a partner special event, or may be supported to apply for a formal university degree.

A film will be made during the programme and participants will be encouraged to blog, vlog and use social media to tell their story.

This role is full time, fixed term until 31 March 2020.

Closes midday on : 22-Mar-2019
