The School of Communication and Journalism at Auburn University seeks candidates for a Lecturer position in Public Speaking in Communication for Auburn Global beginning Aug. 16, 2019. Auburn Global serves international students and supports their cultural experience at Auburn through enrollment in core courses tailored for diverse student populations. The position is a one-year, non-tenure eligible position with the possibility of renewal based upon job performance, need and the availability of funding.

Responsibilities: This is a teaching-intensive position in the undergraduate Communication Public Speaking program. The primary responsibility of the successful candidate is to teach COMM 1000: Public Speaking (the basic speech course) for international students in the Auburn Global Program during the fall and spring semesters.

The successful candidate will have a record of high-quality college/university Public Speaking teaching experience. The successful candidate should also have experience in teaching Public Speaking to international students.

The position requires teaching four in-person, on-campus Public Speaking courses per semester. The successful candidate will also work with the basic course director to train and mentor graduate students who teach COMM 1000.

The full-time, nine-month appointment runs from mid-August to mid-May. Supplemental support for summer instruction may be possible depending on need and availability of funding. Responsibilities also include service to the School.
