PRO VICE-CHANCELLOR (STUDENTS)

  • Fixed term, full time appointment (to December 2019)

The Pro Vice Chancellor Students portfolio encompasses a dynamic and fast-paced award winning university careers service which is reframing its structures to continue to be at the forefront of innovation in employability.

The Graduate Career Development and Employability (GCDE) unit supports the career development needs of more than 17,000 students annually through 400 programs.

GCDE provides key learning opportunities for students through our curricular and co-curricular programs with a focus on work-integrated learning, career development learning, entrepreneurship and employability. We are strategic in our actions and in our aim to create ‘career ready’ graduates who can successfully navigate the changing world of work.

The purpose of this position is to provide administrative and project support to successfully deliver a new model of careers services provision being piloted in 2019.

This role contributes to student success by working proactively with the Unit’s Career Development & Employability Consultants; Peer Employability Assistants; Employer Programs and Work Integrated Learning staff; as well as with University stakeholders, through the seamless provision of, and referral to, services and resources.

The role includes directing students to self-help resources, and referring students for further specialised career development and employability support where needed. The Employability Assistant administers a number of employability programs and services including events, on campus activities for employers, and curricular and extra-curricular programs.

You will be prompted to respond to the selection criteria as part of the online application.
