The Pro Vice Chancellor Students portfolio encompasses a dynamic and fast-paced award winning university careers service which is reframing its structures to continue to be at the forefront of innovation in employability.  The Graduate Career Development and Employability (GCDE) unit supports the career development needs of more than 17,000 students annually through 400 programs.

GCDE provides key learning opportunities for students through our curricular and co-curricular programs with a focus on work-integrated learning, career development learning, entrepreneurship and employability. We are strategic in our actions and in our aim to create ‘career ready’ graduates who can successfully navigate the changing world of work.

The purpose of this position is to contribute to the planning, research and delivery of a range of initiatives and employability activities as part of a new model of careers services provision being piloted in 2019. This role contributes to student success by working in partnership with the Unit’s Career Development & Employability Consultants and Peer Employability Assistants and; with stakeholders through the seamless provision of, and referral to services and resources.

The Employability Officer will build on existing linkages with industry, alumni and UOW staff to provide students with a comprehensive service which is fit-for purpose, collaborative, and networked. Programs and services will be underpinned by effective marketing, administration and project management processes.
