About the job

Swinburne Senior Secondary Programs, VCAL and/or VCE are looking for casual and relief teachers to join our teams at Swinburne Croydon and Wantirna Campus. We are looking for fresh and dynamic VCE and VCAL teachers who are proactive with curriculum initiatives, passionate educators, keen to work in our team and be at the forefront of innovative student engagement and experiences. 

Swinburne Senior Secondary Teachers are required to inspire, engage and educate future ready learners for the 21st century. As a VCE/VCAL teacher, you will implement subject and industry best practice and apply current learning technologies and contemporary learning pedagogies. Swinburne teachers work collaboratively within a team of education professionals. Within this team environment, they will plan deliver, assess, evaluate and ensure delivery of innovative, STEM and Vocational focused and high quality education programs. This role requires our teachers to be able to customise and adapt VCE/VCAL programs to meet our learners and clients’ needs.

Specialist teachers are required to deliver the following units (1 to 4) in the Victorian Certificate of Education:

  • English
  • Biology 
  • Chemistry 
  • Foundation Mathematics
  • General Mathematics
  • Industry & Enterprise
  • Mathematical Methods
  • Physics
  • Product Design and Technology
  • Psychology
  • Specialist Mathematics
  • Systems Engineering

Specialist teachers are required to deliver the following units in the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning, Intermediate and Senior 

  • Literacy reading and writing 
  • Literacy oral communication 
  • Numeracy 
  • Personal Development Skills 
  • Work Related Skills 
  • Retail Services
  • Business Services 
  • Allied Health 
  • Creative Industries (Media)
  • Young Mums VCAL

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Provisional or full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teachers 
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110
  • AQF5 level (or above) qualification in Secondary Education 
  • Relevant degree in areas applicable to VCE, VETiS and VCAL programs including evidence of currency.
