Applications are invited for a plant science and nanomaterials technician in the School of Biological Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to multidisciplinary research with opportunities to interact with industry.

As plant science and nanomaterials technician, you will be responsible for growth and the running of physiological experiments on a diverse range of commercially relevant plants. We are looking skills in four technical areas: horticulture, fluorescence microscopy, plant physiology and the safe handling of nanomaterials.

You will be responsible for the safe handling, containment and disposal of nanomaterials within the research laboratories, therefore experience of handling nanomaterials is essential to the role.

The role is varied and an ability to work independently and proactively is desired. The successful candidate will have experience of relevant technical approaches and ideally having an undergraduate degree in a relevant area.

The role will be three days (21 hours) per week and we are open to flexible working arrangements. The post is available for 12 months.

Informal queries should be addressed to Dr Thomas Swift via email: Tom.Swift@Bristol.ac.uk

It is anticipated that interviews will take place shortly after the closing date.
