Professor of Artificial Intelligence in the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE)

At the University of Manchester we are driving AI innovation and transformation to address some of the major challenges facing our society. 

The University is now inviting applications from outstanding candidates for appointment to the new position of Professor of Artificial Intelligence in the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE).

This appointment is being made in support of Digital Futures, the University’s strategic response to the challenges and opportunities presented by the digital revolution. The Digital Futures programme brings together a multidisciplinary community of over 850 researchers from across the University’s three faculties.

The successful candidate will assume a leadership role in artificial intelligence within the faculty. They will have significant opportunities for intellectual interaction and collaboration with other leading researchers including through the University’s partnership with the Alan Turing Institute.

Candidates will have an excellent track record as a distinguished research leader within a relevant field of artificial intelligence or through relevant applied experience and expertise in the public or private sector.
