The Division of Finance is responsible for an array of centralized financial functions of the University. The person in the Senior Business Systems Analyst position will be part of the Financial Systems and Training team within the Division of Finance and report to the Director of Student Systems. The candidate will serve as an analyst supporting mission-critical SRFS systems, including applications hosted within the Division of Finance, Information Systems and Computing (ISC), and external vendors.
The position works with clients and technical team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis, design, and delivery of day-to-day IT solutions that align to business needs. Additionally, the position will require the candidate to translate business requirements into functional specifications and system design documents for student system related projects. The position will rely on an understanding of University policies and procedures and regulatory compliance to help ensure that delivered IT solutions are built to adhere to those requirements.
The position will play a key role in supporting advanced operational reporting using Business Objects and other ad-hoc reporting tools as well as managing development efforts for reports requiring technical resources. The candidate will also serve in a leadership role approving and helping to supervise developers and other team members to deliver solutions while acting as a client liaison for those working in support of Financial Aid, Pennant Accounts, Graduate Funding, Penn Loan System, and other student systems. Additionally, she or he will be responsible for some vendor management through support and project work.
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience, including analyst and project management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are required; a minimum of seven years of experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated expertise in process redesign, systems analysis and design and the ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies. Experience with student enterprise systems, specifically financial aid and student accounts is a plus.
