Position Description

The Department of Health Policy and Management is seeking a tenured Professor of Management. Candidates should demonstrate leadership of distinguished research and educational activity in areas at the intersection of the fields of management, health care organizations, and public health. This will include leadership in public health/health care management in such areas as operations management, organizational studies, leadership, financial management, or strategic management of organizations in health care or public health. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate the capacity to successfully teach in at least one of these areas of organizational science in the School’s academic degree programs and advise doctoral and masters students. S/he will mentor junior faculty as well.

Candidates should have a doctoral degree (DBA, PhD) or MD degree with advanced academic training in a management related discipline, a strong background in management research, the ability to teach graduate-level management courses, a successful record of obtaining grant support for research, and the capacity to work with interdisciplinary groups. Research experience on issues integral to understanding and improving how health care organizations operate is required.
