Applications are invited for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Research Fellow to work alongside Dr Annette Hand on a 24 month project that aims to explore and understand the scope and value of specialist nurses working in the field of Parkinson’s. This project is funded by Parkinson’s UK.

We are looking to appoint a postdoctoral researcher with a social science background with mixed methods research skills, and ideally has experience in realist evaluation.  The main duties of the post will be to recruit nurse specialists, patients and family to undertake a survey, focus groups and interviews, data collection and analysis, to write up findings for the final report.

You will have an undergraduate degree in a relevant field of social science, a PhD is required for appointment at Associate level.  You will have excellent knowledge of mixed methods for applied health research and experience of collecting and analysing quantitative and qualitative research data in applied health research.  Amongst other duties, you will design surverys, plan and conduct qualitative interviews and focus groups.  You will maintain and analyse qualitative data transcripts using Nvivo software and engage with the broader clinical and evaluation team within the project.  This part time post is available for 24 months and commencing on 1st May 2019.
