Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (Ref.: 494176), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

The Department is one of the five engineering departments in the Faculty of Engineering, offering B.Eng., M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes in fields of Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management.  Excellent facilities are provided in a number of laboratories for teaching and research.   Information about the Department can be obtained at http://www.imse.hku.hk/.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering and Logistics or a closely related field, with a strong commitment to research and teaching.  The position is open to all research areas in Industrial Engineering and Supply Chain and Logistics Engineering.  Priority will be given to those in the areas of Financial Technology, Systems/Decision Analytics, Robotics and Automation, Digital Twin, Cyber-physical System, and Smart Industrial Systems (Manufacturing, Logistics, Supply Chains, Healthcare, and Aviation).  The appointee will be expected to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and supervise research students and projects.  For appointment as Professor or Associate Professor, applicants should be able to demonstrate outstanding international peer recognition and world leadership in their areas of expertise.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
