About the position

Bond University’s Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine has a multi-disciplinary base across a range of programs including Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Nutrition and Dietetic Practice, Exercise and Sports Science, Health Sciences, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy.

The Faculty is also home to the Bond University Institute of Evidence-Based Healthcare the staff of which will be key stakeholders and contributors to the Master of Healthcare Innovations program suite. The Bond University Institute of Evidence-Base Healthcare is a successful, multidisciplinary team established in June 2010 by Professor Paul Glasziou. The Institute’s mission is to intelligently and efficiently close the gaps between best available evidence and current clinical practice. The effective integration of research into practice will contribute to better health and healthcare for all Australians.

An Assistant Professor appointment is being recruited to contribute to the development and delivery of the newly approved Master of Healthcare Innovations program suite.

The Assistant Professor of Healthcare Innovations will contribute to the continued development of the Master of Healthcare Innovations prior to its commencement in September 2019 and delivery post-September 2019.  Under the leadership of senior academic staff, the successful candidate will contribute to teaching, learning, research and community engagement activities of the Healthcare Innovations discipline and Master of Healthcare Innovations program. with a particular focus on evidence-based practice.

About the person:

The successful candidate will have relevant experience in teaching and research ideally within the area of evidence-based practice.

It is expected that the successful candidate will:

  • Coordinate and teach subjects within the program that have an evidence-based practice focus;
  • Conduct research into areas relevant to disciplinary expertise relevant to the program. Ideally this focus will be in the field of evidence-based practice;
  • Contribute to ongoing curriculum development for the program with particular focus on evidence-based practice subjects; and
  • Contribute to coordination and delivery of subjects within other programs of the faculty as appropriate to disciplinary expertise.

The remuneration range for this appointment is $115 033 - $136 433 plus 9.5% Superannuation per annum.

Level and salary will be negotiated and commensurate with skills and experience and be fully competitive in the Australian market.  Salary packaging options are available.
