Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Lecturer in the Centre for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETL) (Ref.: 494166), to commence as soon as possible on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.

CETL is the primary unit in the University that promotes best practices in pedagogy and assessment, and plays a key role in supporting the implementation of University policies in relation to teaching and learning. It has established a strong track record in its active engagement with Faculties, and in the scholarship of teaching and learning. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Education or a related discipline and be able to demonstrate significant experience engaging with academic staff in the enhancement of student learning in higher education. They should have an established track record of teaching and course development within a discipline in higher education; and expertise in one or more of the following areas across or within disciplines: assessment, pedagogy, and curriculum design and renewal. Evidence of innovative teaching and learning approaches and contribution to course design and curriculum development would be of significant advantage.

Reporting to the Director of CETL, the appointee will contribute to the Faculty’s teaching and learning programmes, workshop and seminar events, faculty liaison and special projects conducted by the Centre. He/She will be expected to have Higher Education Academy (HEA) Fellowship commensurate with their teaching and learning experiences. HEA Fellowship is a minimum requirement for the position, with Fellowship and Senior Fellowship being preferred.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
