An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative and motivated individual to contribute to the delivery of all aspects of pre and post registration Acute, Critical and Emergency Care education within the School of Health Sciences, enhancing the student experience on our programmes. The post holder will contribute to practical teaching across pre-hospital care programmes as well as planning, development, delivery and evaluation of new and related programmes within the School as required.
This post would be ideal for an experienced qualified Paramedic or Acute, Critical or Emergency Care Nurse working within the aforementioned settings; who possesses a clear understanding of pre and post-qualifying education within the context of the UK.
The successful applicant must be either a practicing Paramedic with current Health Care Professions Council registration, or a Nurse registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. A Bachelor honours degree in Acute, Critical or Emergency Care; Paramedic Practice; or a health related subject and a teaching qualification (or willingness to undertake upon appointment) are core requirements for this post.
Utilising recent clinical teaching experience (higher education preferred), the successful applicant must be committed to student success and experience, and be able to show that they can effectively lead and support learning and teaching in both the classroom and practice setting. Good presentation skills, strong planning and organisational skills and an ability to work collaboratively are essential.
The appointee will be allocated a named preceptor whilst working at the University.
